Hyundai has released range pricing and specifications for the new Kona Electric in the UK. The EV there starts at 34,995 pounds – and could make it further on one charge than previously communicated.
First the prices: The Kona Electric is available in four versions – Advance, N Line, N Line S, and Ultimate. The first is available with a 48kWh and 65kWh battery option. The Advance variant with the smaller battery sells for 34,995 pounds, while the 65-kWh version starts at 38,595 pounds. The N Line S and the Ultimate, fitted with a 65 kWh battery, start at 43,095 pounds in the UK.
Hyundai released first specifications about the update of its Kona Electric in March, after the design was unveiled in December. Now, the carmaker goes into more detail.
The standard range 48.4kWh powertrain option provides 156PS and 255Nm, while the 65.4 kWh powertrain offers 218PS and 255Nm. Previously, the maximum driving range was estimated at 490 kilometres (according to WLTP). The carmaker now writes that the EV can make up to 319 miles on one charge – the equivalent of 513 kilometres. However, that is according to its own data. The manufacturer is still awaiting WLTP homologation.
