Tesla’s Model Y Performance electric SUV offers a second electric motor and minor tweaks, albeit at a significant price hike. The Performance’s acceleration is impressive, and its power to the ground is swift. The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive is more leisurely, but its excellent throttle response and sharp 60-100km/h performance make up for it.

The RWD uses 15.7kWh per 100km, while the Performance can accept up to 250kW of charging power. The Model Y Performance is the third fastest charging EV in the country, with up to 270kW charging capability. The Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive gets all the key features of the Performance and is a great electric SUV to drive and with a price gap of $30K, the RWD may make more sense to more people.
