Tesla has delayed the release of the range extender battery pack for the Tesla Cybertruck, which was supposed to increase the dual-motor model’s range to over 470 miles. The pack, estimated to weigh around 47 kWh and weigh 600 lbs, has been delayed until mid-2025. The dual-motor model’s range was initially claimed to be over 470 miles, while the tri-motor model’s range was reduced to 415 miles. The pack will set back shoppers an additional $16,000, which is a considerable amount. Tesla’s previous price and range promises for the Cybertruck were not met, with the entry-level model starting at $39,900 and having 250+ miles of range, while the dual-motor and tri-motor models were priced at $49,900 and $69,900 respectively.
