Review: 2023 Kia EV6 GT Is A Manic EV With Poise And Polish

The Kia EV6 GT boasts impressive specs, including a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the front axle and a beefier motor at the rear axle, delivering 430 kW (576 hp) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque. The 77.4 kWh battery pack, found in other Hyundai Motor Group models, supports 350 kW charging, allowing the EV6 GT to top up from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. The EV6 GT can tow up to 1,800 kg (3,968 lbs) braked and has McPherson struts up front with a double ball joint design.
The car has 32 Active Safety features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, intelligent speed limit assist, and high beam assist. The EV6 GT offers four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and GT. The traction control system can be easily overwhelmed, and the EV6 GT has a dedicated ‘Drift’ mode that increases power to the rear wheels. However, the EV6 GT’s charging range is disappointing, with a combined range of 424 km (263 miles) in Australia and 331 km (206 miles) in the U.S.
