The Polestar 2 has undergone a significant mid-life update, bringing it closer to the top of its field. The car has been updated with a new nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, improving battery capacity and electric range. The motor specification has also been rethought, with a new motor developing more power and torque on the rear axle. The Dual Motor model now has a second electric motor to the front axle, boosting combined power output to 469bhp.

The Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor is the most efficient model in Polestar’s range, with a WLTP combined lab-test range of 406 miles. The car’s efficiency testing showed a 26% improvement on the 70mph motorway touring efficiency test. Polestar has also enhanced the car’s rapid charging capability, with a 150kW peak draw becoming a maximum-rated 205kW. Prices for the 2024 model have risen by around 5% compared to the previous model year, but the car remains competitive on value compared to key rivals.
