Nissan is launching two new variants of its Ariya electric model in Europe. There are no changes to the body. One is a new top-of-the-line model, and the other is a more affordable trim to make the Ariya eligible for subsidies in some countries.
The latter is the front-wheel drive Ariya Engage, available with both battery sizes (63 and 87 kWh). The smaller battery version has a WTLP range of 404 kilometres, while the model with an 87 kWh battery and 178 kW front-wheel drive can get as far as 536 kilometres on one charge. More realistic range figures for this drive combination can be found in our drive report on the Nissan Ariya.
According to the carmaker, this new variant would “ensure [that] customers have the ability to access EV grants and subsidies across some European markets.” However, Nissan does not say in which countries exactly.
Specific pricing should follow from 3 April, when the two new variants of the Nissan Ariya can be ordered in most European markets. In Germany, the Nissan Ariya already qualifies for the environmental bonus with a net list price starting at €39,907.56.
