The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX is a fast family car with impressive acceleration, superb range, and a well-equipped interior. However, if viewed as an electric hot hatch to replace the VW Golf GTI, the GTX disappoints with its brisk-but-not-breakneck acceleration, slightly numb handling, and general lack of excitement. The ID.3 GTX is a great motorway weapon, but if you really need an electric hot hatch, the Cupra Born VZ offers a few more thrills.
