The MG4 Extended Range 2023 is a new addition to the brand’s electric vehicle lineup, offering over 300 miles between charges. The battery pack now packs 77kWh, up from the Long Range’s 58kWh and 44kWh in the base car, resulting in a claimed WLTP range of 323 miles. The extra weight in the battery pack is almost imperceptible from behind the wheel, but the extra cost makes it closer to rivals like the Hyundai Kona Electric or Kia Niro EV. The MG4’s interior quality and tech are exposed compared to more rounded and better-built Korean options, with the 10.25-inch infotainment screen being slow to respond and frustrating to use on the move. Despite its price increase, the MG4 Extended Range is a worthy addition to the MG4 lineup and is expected to be a hit in the sales charts.
