Fisker shows its upcoming PEAR small SUV, at optimistic $30k base price
Fisker has unveiled its upcoming PEAR small SUV, with an optimistic $30K base price. The PEAR is Fisker’s second SUV, smaller than the Ocean, and is intended to have a lower base price of $29,900 before tax credits, or $22,400 after tax credits. The vehicle will be produced in the USA at the old Lordstown plant, allowing it to qualify for tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act. The PEAR will have 35% fewer parts than the Ocean, resulting in simpler production and lower costs. The PEAR will be made of steel, making it cheaper but heavier than aluminum. The interior of the PEAR has a spartan feel, with a Honda Element vibe. The PEAR will have both five- and six-seat options, with the six-seat option featuring a bench seat in the front. Reservations for the PEAR are available at $250 per seat.
