Toyota is a little late to the EV party. Everybody else was already well on their way to non-sobrietous disease state — that’s me inventing a new “woke” word — and lined up at the punch bowl for their second round by the time the world’s largest automaker joined the festivities. So now it’s catch-up time, the company promising to produce no less than 3.5 million battery-powered vehicles by 2030.
