Lotus has unveiled its new Emeya, a low-slung four-door EV that combines luxury and speed, similar to the Porsche Taycan. Both cars have a coupe-like roofline, striking headlights, and larger wheels. The Emeya has a contrasting roof, pillars, and flush-fitting door handles, while the Taycan has a 911-like design. The Emeya is expected to be similar in size to the Taycan, with a two-speed transmission and adaptive air suspension. The Taycan Turbo has a broader powertrain lineup, with a base rear-wheel drive model with up to 402 hp. The Emeya has a 102-kWh battery and range specs, with a maximum range of up to 315 miles. Both cars have high-tech interiors, with the Emeya featuring sustainable materials, a 15.1-inch OLED central screen, and a powerful KEF sound system. Pricing for the Emeya is yet to be revealed, but it is expected to cost at least $150,000. The Porsche remains the driver’s benchmark for electric sports sedans, and Lotus will have to match it.
