The Born is Cupra’s first fully electric car in Australia and the first based on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Drive matrix (MEB) platform. It is selling well, with 86 sales in July, making it the 7th best-selling EV for the month. The Born comes with an 82kWh battery pack, a Performance Pack ($2600) and an Interior Package ($2900). It has a starting price of $59,990 and falls under the threshold for state EV rebates. The Born has a small 385L boot and no usable frunk. It has a single motor RWD setup with 170kW and 310Nm, and its suspension handles bumpy roads and speed bumps well.
