Kia EV9 and Volvo EX30: Are they 2024’s most important EVs?

The 2025 Kia EV9 and 2025 Volvo EX30 are two of the most important electric vehicles for 2024. The EV9 is the first mass-market 3-row electric SUV under $60,000, and it is expected to be a familiar and appealing product for North American buyers. Kia’s sibling Hyundai will follow with its own version, the Ioniq 7, sometime during 2024.
The Volvo EX30 is the company’s smallest-ever SUV and the fastest-accelerating car the company has sold. It is designed for Europe, primarily for tight city streets and alleys. The EX30 is small enough that four full-size American adults will find it too tight for more than short trips.
