The 2026 Nissan Leaf is set to be reborn as a sleek SUV with concept styling, drawing inspiration from the coupe-crossover Chill-Out Concept unveiled in 2021. The new model will have a lower and sleeker profile and will be manufactured at the same British factory that produces the electric Qashqai and electric Juke. Nissan’s designers aim to avoid replicating the ‘awkward proportions’ of the first and second-generation Leaf, as the car will share the same CMF-EV platform as the Ariya and Renault Megane E-Tech. The new Leaf will feature state-of-the-art batteries produced by Chinese battery company Envision, which offer a 30% increase in energy density, significantly boosting its driving range.
