Elon Musk announced that the Full Self-Driving (FSD) advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) could move out of the Beta stage of development by the end of 2023. Mobileye, an Israeli Intel-owned company, has confirmed its autonomous driving solution will be featured on the upcoming Polestar 4. The ADAS suite includes radar, lidar, cameras, and a computer that can enable hands-off, eyes-off autonomous driving on controlled-access highways in operational-defined domains. The Polestar 4 is expected to arrive stateside in 2025 with an MSRP of around $60,000. The company’s REM system uses a simplified mathematical model based on five simple principles. The Polestar 3 is expected to arrive in late 2024 with a similar solution called Pilot.
