The 2024 VW ID.3 is set to be introduced in Australia, marking the start of Volkswagen’s third era. The mid-life facelift has brought forward changes to align the car’s appearance with traditional VW expectations. The bonnet is now flush and body-coloured, while major touchpoints have been overhauled to increase the plushness of materials. The powertrain remains untouched, with a rear-mounted motor offering 150kW and 310Nm, and a rear-mounted motor with 58kWh or 77kWh batteries. The ID.3 is expected to arrive with an entry point below $60,000. The ride is generally good, even on stocky 20-inch wheels, with adaptive suspension available. The interior is refined and comfortable, but the car may not be worth waiting for. Other appealing options include the MG 4, Cupra Born, and the upcoming ID.2.
