The Tesla Model Y, Australia’s top-selling electric car, is facing off against the Ford Mustang Mach-E, one of its closest rivals. The Model Y RWD, available in three variants, was priced from $65,400 plus on-road costs at the time of testing. However, Tesla has since rolled out three price cuts, slashing the Model Y RWD down to $55,900 plus on-road costs, a $9500 saving and the cheapest it has ever been. The Model Y has been updated with new colors, wheel design, and ultrasonic parking sensors replaced by software that uses cameras around the car to judge distance.
