2024 Tesla Model 3 review: Australian first drive

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 sedan, known as the ‘Highland’, has undergone a significant update to address customer complaints and refresh the top-selling sedan. The update includes restyled front and rear fascias, a refreshed interior with new materials and a brighter touchscreen, upgraded driver-assistance cameras, a longer driving range, and revised suspension, tyres, and materials. Tesla claims 50% of the car is new, with some small changes such as new colors, wheels, improved phone connectivity, and better sound systems. However, a controversial change has been the deletion of the steering wheel stalks. The Model 3 starts at $61,900 for the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and $71,900 for the Long Range AWD (all-wheel drive), all before on-road costs, as well as $400 order and $1400 delivery fees. The car on test is the top-selling Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive, with a single electric motor, a 513km claimed WLTP driving range, and 0–100km/h acceleration in a claimed 6.1 seconds.
