Hyundai has unveiled the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, which is its first EV to get the high performance N treatment. The Ioniq 5 N is having its world premiere at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Now for the good stuff. The Ioniq 5 N is powered by two electric motors that generate a combined 601 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque. But that power can be temporarily increased to 641 hp and 567 lb-ft. with the N Grin Boost function engaged, which only lasts for 10 seconds. Ioniq 5 N will reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, which drops to 3.4 seconds with the N Grin Boost. It has a top speed of 161 mph.

One unique feature is the e-Shift programming, which provides simulated gearshifts, which mimics the feel of an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic by briefly cutting of the motor’s torque delivery. There are also paddle shifters that act very similarly to what we see in gas powered cars. Downshifts are also sound like the other N cars, since the same bangs and crackles that you’d hear from the exhaust on the internal combustion cars, comes from the speakers in the Ioniq 5 N.

Stopping power is provided by front four-piston fixed calipers with 15.7-inch rotors and rear single-piston calipers with 14.2-inch rotors. All that power is sent to the ground via 21-inch wheels that are wrapped in unique Pirelli P Zero Elect 275/35ZR-21 tires. The battery pack has been revised to give it 84.0 kWh of usable energy, from the same battery pack that previously had 77 kWh. Hyundai has not announced the driving range estimates.
