The 2024 BMW i7 M70 is the fastest BMW EV ever, with a power density of 2.41 kW/kg in the rear motors. The BMW Group patented technology uses six excitation coils in the motor’s stator, generating high power in a compact design. The single motor on the rear axle pumps out a remarkable 489 horsepower (360 kW), while the front motor pushes a respectable 258 hp (190 kW), resulting in a combined maximum output of 747 ponies. The i7 M70 xDrive also features M Sport Boost and M Launch Control, with the sport mode torque figure jumping to 811 when activated and toggled the 10-second boost.
The i7 M70’s all-electric range is 472 km, a competitive number in the big luxury EV sedan segment. Other M tweaks include M-specific suspension technology, standard adaptive two-axle air suspension, Integral Active Steering, Executive Drive Pro suspension packages, an M sports brake system, and 21-inch M light alloy wheels. Automatic doors are available for the i7 M70 xDrive, with the driver’s door opening automatically when the smartphone is installed.
