2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 review: Australian launch

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a three-model range with a single-motor, rear-drive version and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive variant. The Dynamiq trim level starts at $74,000, with a 168kW/350Nm engine and a range of 614km. The Ioniq 6 is the lightest and most aerodynamic of the three, with 18-inch alloy wheels and adaptive matrix headlights. It also offers seven airbags for added safety.
The Ioniq 6 is a bigger, heavier, and more technologically dense vehicle than the Tesla Model 3, and it feels a step forward in terms of EV maturity. It is also more comfortable to drive and be driven in, with a sophisticated suspension setup. Although some minor annoyances, such as the wired smartphone connection, intrusive driver assists, and prescriptive range structure, the Ioniq 6 is a well-liked car.
Hyundai is optimistic about supply easing up, with four times the number of Ioniq cars arriving this year compared to last, and 2024 seeing another doubling of supply. While the Ioniq 6 may not depose the Tesla Model 3 in sales charts, it is a promising option for those seeking a better car from Korea. Read More WhichCar RSS Feed
