Tom Moloughney, a senior editor at InsideEVs, has owned his Ford F-150 Lightning for 16 months, covering 15,000 miles. The truck is a Lariat Extended Range model and has averaged about 2.1 miles/kilowatt-hour in the warmer months and 1.7-1.8 miles/kWh in the cold season. Tom’s F-150 Lightning averages 220 miles per charge in winter and 300 miles per charge in summer. However, he believes a heat pump would be useful in winter, but Ford has announced that a heat pump will become standard starting with the 2024MY.
